You made it! Nice work.

I’m Sam your practicum counsellor (Yorkville University), supervised by Heather Hendrie, RCC. I work with adults 18+ virtually across BC, with nature-based walk-and-talk sessions in Fernie.

I understand the realities of camp and shift work and the pressures that come with them. I prioritize psychological and physical safety, workable boundaries, and burnout repair. Whether you’re entering, staying, or re-routing, I’m here to help you do it well.

After two decades in mining, forestry, and ski patrol/avalanche ops, I switched gears into counselling—because apparently I like difficult terrain. Now I support and guide the kind that lives inside your nervous system.

(I still carry PPE; it just looks different: Pause, Permission, Empathy.)

**Trauma-informed, strengths-based, and person-centered care using CBT, ACT, and IFS. We’ll keep it doable and grounded, and when it fits, the outdoors joins us as a co-therapist.

Who I work with (18+): stress & anxiety, burnout, grief & loss, anger/emotion regulation, ADHD, and big life/career transitions (including late transitions and navigating industry culture).

Opening to new clients Jan 5, 2026. Book a free consult to see if this feels like a fit.
